This is a compensator not a muzzle brake. Holes drilled into it are perpendicular to the bullet path and only on the top.

The 5.5 inch muzzle brake was a good performer and it helped to keep muzzle rise down which allowed quicker follow up shots. I tested with 147gr to 168gr 308 and had great results and I would highly recommend this product. Well done Texas Precision i will be ordering from you very soon
